I am sure that the "rules" will become more self evident as time passes.
Natural progression of a new site.
Moderators? Wonder who they will be.
Doesn't matter as long as they are fair and keep personal opinions to themselves.
Rules are rules. Doesn't matter what the moderator's personal opinion or affiliations are.
If this site stays family friendly and chevelle oriented, there shouldn't be any problems....but there always are.
Soooo, moderators are a necessary part of it. Someone has to referee.

I want my son to join a Chevelle Forum because he is really into his 72 but he is only 10 years old. Some of the TC was not fit for his viewing. If we can keep it clean I will let him join.

Been kinda busier than I thought I'd be the past 4-5 days. Haven't had a chance to post any yet. I too would like to keep this a family-friendly forum with questions & answers and not a lot of posting just for the sake of posting and keep politics and such out of it.
I'm working on stuff as time allows...

IMO even being family friendly place a 10 year old shouldn't surfing without supervision especially on bulletin boards....

Trust me, he is watched. I am in IT and I have a lot of back end controls and monitoring devices outside of the PC on my home network including a proxy and content filter. The kids PC is in the family room where we always are and it is the only PC in the house his login account will work, I have an Active Directory Domain that locks the PC down too. Email is filtered by an anti spam appliance and the kids can only receive messages from permitted senders using Exchange /AD controls.

This is the first time I have been on a brand new site,so for me it will be an experience to see how things go and grow.

So you are saying everyone on the site is allowed to have an opinion EXCEPT for the moderators?

Sounds like you've got it Rich.

Wow. Didn't mean that at all as it appears you took it. I apologize that you did.
I meant what I said in a general philosophical sense in relation to the original topic.
I only meant that a moderator should be fair and equal to all posters without bringing into a decision their own personal bias or favoritisms. Opinions are just what they are and we of course all have one.
I didn't mean to imply by any means that any moderator was/is act(ing) in such a manner. Never have at any site.
I guess a keyboard doesn't acurately portray what is in the typist mind especially when conversation is between people that don't know each other.
Surprised me that my comment was taken that way.....or prehaps, you were just asking. Next poster seemed to take it that way also. Think that moderators are a lower life form? What? :speechless:
Either case, I hope that I have better explained myself.
I will stick to either factually answering or asking a specific chevelle related question as I usually do.
I doubt you can find a negative posting towards anything or anyone in my posting history here or any other site.
New site here and I, myself, have evidently already gotten negativity towards myself. Why? I re-read my post and still don't see anything negative....just posting a general feeling for the topic at question for a new site. Didn't even know there were any moderators yet much less who they were....which I have NO problem with now that I do know in any way.
Don't even know why I felt compelled to explain myself to the extent I have and started to erase all this and say "forget it". but......
Happy New Year!

I don't think that is what he was saying I get the impression that a Moderator needs to be an impartial judge but on the same note the Mods are car people too and they can post opinions and what ever else they want within the guidelines of the forum rules.

Exactly. I thought I said the same thing in my original post but in different words. I went and re-read my original posting again.
Still don't see where anyone could think that in "my universe the moderators are a lower life form". :speechless:
Just shocked me to see that. No worries, I love Chevelles, love to help others, and have plenty of friends and loved ones in real life.
I explained myself and am only responsible for myself. I can't help what others do.
I'm done. That's all I have to say on that.

Please help me to understand exactly what, where, who, I have EVER spoken of that would cause you to say something like this? Do you know me? Ever spoken to me? Ever messaged me? Topic discussion? Maybe I have memory loss, but I thought not.
A brand new site has a thread about rules. Sticking to the topic.
On that topic:
I believe that any personal attack or negativity directed in a personal manner to an individual should NOT BE ALLOWED.
It is rude, uncalled for behavior that should not be tolerated. There is another thread on this site where a person was given hell by NAME. It is a new site!!!! Surely someone could have said they would prefer less post whoring and the reasons why without personal insults.
Any of us can discuss items, feelings, or behaviors while keeping some decorum.
I thought, I could be wrong, that was part of the reason for the starting of this site amongst others.
Tom, I am a person that is very easy going, never personally insult/look down on anyone in cyber or real world, and do not tolerate such towards myself or my friends in the real world. But you are on the puter.......
I am done with this.

I particularly like that part Dale.
Seems some of us just like to have text conversations, and more times than not, they end up getting away from the original subject altogether.
