Well Ben, if that buildsheet is legit, and for the car in question, then it is an SS. According to some of the codes it is a 325 HP car with TH 400 and a 3.07 posi rear.

Thanks don, much appreciated !! What is this car worth if it were in showroom condition. The car is in really rough shape, every piece of sheet metal would have to be replaced. I would be into the car for 25,000 by the time it was finished.
thanks again

With car prices down, you might end up with more into it then what they are selling for. If you put 25,000 into it and what you may pay for it it may be only worth about that. I didn't realize that 69 SS cars had 3.07 gear ratio in them. Learn something new everyday.

Ya Ray, the L35 came standard with 3:31 and the 3:07 being the "economic" optional ratio. There was also a 3:08 ratio which I believe was for 10 bolt rears.

Ben,
Unless you own your own body shop.....and have been collecting all the sheet metal for years for this Chevelle.....your going to be into this project for a lot more than $25K?
By the time you remove all the rust, fabricate all new sheet metal, media blast, body work, paint and paint products, labor, restore the frame, paint and paint supplies, labor, suspension parts, brake lines, gas tank, fuel lines, rebuild the entire driveline, glass, complete interior, rubber products, hardware kit, etc,etc,etc....it all adds up fast!
Should you decide to do such a project, the best of luck. It`s always nice to see another 1969 Chevelle saved!

Hi Dan
That's where i am very lucky. A good friend is the owner of a body shop here in nova scotia that specializes in resto. I have done 4 cars in the last year and get a "special" shop rate. Each of my "tough" projects has averaged 15000$ inc candy paint. So far i have done ;
1967 firebird 400 ram air
1972 chevelle ss
1969 corvette convertible
1967 chrysler imperial 2 door convertible
Next up is my 1969 z28 and if i can justify it this 1969 ss chevelle.
Engine and tranny usually come from pro-formance in new jersey (i put the originals away).
Dan, i noticed you said fabricate sheet metal, are all the floor and trunk panels, 1/4's door skins and fenders not available as aftermarket? I havn't had time to look yet as i only saw the car yesterday.
Much obliged for all the info so far guys.

Ben,
Just about every piece of sheet metal is available through a few various aftermarket companies... ie, Dynacorn. Post some pics of your 1969 Chevelle, we can access the damage together.

when i go to the upload page the 3 pics are sitting in the upper left hand box and used up my max size. How do i delete those pics or move them somwhere else to get more room?
