I'm looking for a couple opinions on what to do for tires for the convertible. Carlisle is coming up in a couple weeks and I wanted to get the tires while I'm there to save on shipping. My only 2 choices are Goodyear Polyglas or the Firestone Wide Ovals since Tiger Paws aren't reproduced. I like the looks of both the Goodyears and Firestones. The Firestones are a bit cheaper and more easily available and I run Firestone tires on every other car I have. FWIW, the car is going to be Autumn Gold, black stripes, black top.

Tom,
Most people will probably say "do what you want." If this car won't be driven much and the 'stones are cheaper...case closed in my book. I suspect either will look good in any case. There, did I beat around the bush enough?? LOL

I'm going to have it be a Queen the first year. i want to take it a few places and see how it does, then I'll drive it. I've been looking at pics of Autumn Gold cars with both tires and I'm kinda leaning towards the Firestones.

It wasn't that difficult of a choice for me: Goodyear Polyglas :)

I like the Firestones. Something about the Big script white walls.

To put it a little more in perspective, I can get the Firestones for $166 each and the Goodyears are $215 each. That's a $200 difference.

Since you like both brands I would buy the Firestones and save the $200 for something else.
