Dale, thanks for doing this for the Chevelle hobbiest, I know this forum doesn't run on air so when you start offering paid memberships you can count on me. Les

I admire the time and money it takes to do this.
Thanks Dale!

Just please don't start any of the Gary (grandsport) banter. That is getting really old and annoying to quite a few guys I know.

When I figure I may have something to offer ...shall we call it 'Premium Members'... over and above the free stuff that comes with the software, I may consider some type of memberships. About the only thing I'd have to offer now is a Blog section (currently disabled 'till I get the hang of it) and more private messages and photo upload capacity. One member has already suggested a Chat area which I'm looking into.
For now, it's just something I've always wanted to do and maybe my ChevelleStuff site and the various registries will generate some traffic. TC has had 14 years of developement and Al's done a tremendous job. I'm not here to really compete with TC, just complement and integrate with my ChevelleStuff site. :thanks:

I also agree that useless banter just to get post count up is a waste of space.

Or we can always have a Gary forum where Gary and any other Gary that wishes to participate can post anything they want?
I should probably not talk. I have over 12K posts on TC now. However, thats over the course of being a part of Team Chevelle for 10 plus years now.

I wonder if there is anything worthwhile in this discussion or if it is just a bash gary thread. Maybe we all ought to go read the Decorum thread before posting here anymore. Does it feel good?
I am here to participate in tech discussions about my hot rod Chevelle...what about you guys?

Lets not bash anyone here, it will soon turn into mindless dribble. We are all car guys, lets talk cars and our hobby. Gary should be welcomed with open arms, after all he is a fellow Chevelle owner.

Everyone should be welcome. If someone gets out of control, usually a comment will fix things.
Regardless, I have enjoyed Gary so I'd be disappointed if he left.

To me the issue is not about Gary. It's about reverence for our forum and conducting ourselves with decorum - self policing.
We all had a great deal of reverence for Al when he owned Team Chevelle because he was doing it out of his own pocket in the early years. We felt priveleged to be there and didn't want to abuse his resources. The same sentiment should prevail here now. If there is a bunch of off-topic banter, it consumes resources like hard drives and bandwidth. I remember the days when Al couldn't keep up and we were all disappointed about not being able to access our favorite website. So, let's treat this one with some degree of reverence.

Exactly. For the record. I dont see this thread as bashing Gary or anyone else named Gary.:) I have no problems with any of those guys.

Seb, it gets a little old when you see someone asking a question about some aspect of their car, or attempting to learn how to do something, and the thread gets interrupted by people replying to other replies in said threads just to say HI and put up a waving smiley face. It's not necessary, wastes bandwidth, and takes up server space. That's what facebook is for....take that stuff there. This kind of thing does not always happen in the Bench Racing forum either, I've seen it in ALL of the forums on Team Chevelle.....including the classifieds.
Well I guess I missed those, the funnin around in Bench & CE should be fine as long as it's not disrespecting to others..IMHO

I like the banter, just be sure to answer the guy's question at some point.

I think in a nutshell. There is too much of people posting stuff on team chevelle just for sake of posting something. Almost as if they are only trying to raise thier post count. It would be nice to see that not happen here. IMO, it just gets a bit rediculous and redundant.

It's kind of hard when it's in just about every single one. I'm not the only one that thinks it either, I'm just the one that said it.

But the amount of complaining you do about Gary is as annoying and as useless as what your claiming from him.. If you took the time to get to know Gary, I think you would see that he is just a easy going, Fun loving Guy that you may end up liking!!!! Lighten up. Life's too short to let the little things get to you!!!
I need Sebs popcorn smiley for this thread.

You can use a smiley or image from anywhere. You just need to copy it's url and wrap it with img codes...
