I saw this posted on the sYc and thought it might be nice to know. It appears that Sunpro is offering reproduction tachs like the old Sun uper Tachs.

Now I don't know when Sun became Sunpro, and I think it is funny in their literature that they reference the tach as being from the 1970's as they actually began with the Super Tach (the one that doesn't need a sender) in about 1967.

It seemed like when Sunpro came on the scene the quality took a step back. I am questioning the quality of these, but they look good enough to consider.

I will still alway prefer a nice original real-deal unit, even with some patina over these, but It sure is easier just to pull the trigger and enjoy a new, shinny one.

Here are some old ones from the thread for reference.

Are there other puopular "reproduction" gauges available? SW or others?

I kind of like the older green over the blue.

Yeah, I've had a few of those. I'm not really sure what they are called. I know those tachs were just before the Super Tach version. Down side is they needed the sender box, which is kinda big and bulky. I know they can be converted but is is rather expensive and not original.

I collected a set, but after having them and realizing the tach sender thing, I ended up putting them on ebay. I think these were dated 1967, and the pic was for ebay bck in 2002.

What do you think about the new repro tachs?

I would normally always jump for the 270 degree sweep units but I kind of like the other one too. Prices don't seem too bad either.
Now if this one just had the two adjustable pointers like the old RC85 did.

Thought I'd revive this thread a bit. I found a couple of cheap mid 70s?? Sun tachs on ebay, no idea if they work. Then I got the bright idea to buy a 80s vintage NOS Sun tach cheap. A little disection, switcho chango of the face plate, paint the needle from red to white and hopefully I'll have a working unit with the Era correct look I'm going for. If someone can point me in the direction on pic posting how to I'll post some pics.
