Dale,
Can you make a local members area?
TCNW is a group of Pacific Northwest gear-heads that love to talk trash & occasionally provide useful information about going fast for short durations....
Can you slip in a spot?
Build it and they will come....
Thanks
Dan

Hey! I support your suggestion - I always enjoyed the banter and comraderie that you guys share!
WHY have your own little private place when you can take part in any forum here and be like everyone else.?

But I gotta admit----they can be very entertaining.
Hope ya get it, guys:waving:
(I think it is just Mark and I down here in So Texas)

Why do you need/want one here when you have one on TC already. The same guys are on both sites. it would be repetitive.

A Local Members area, for any given region, not just the NW, encourages folks to meet up and get to know one another.
I've had a great time connecting with the members up here and would encourage others to try the same.
A specific TCNW Forum might also help to bring over some of the knowledgeable and talented members of the group and help this Forum grow, too.

I think that was the original intention of the sub forum BUT 99.9% of the posts there are not about any of that so it wound up to be a separation of the TEAM and from an outsider of the group appears to be a clique or a separate chat group. As an example, everyone decided to keep all eBay and craig's list type related posts in one place, yet the NW guys have to have their own.
Nothing at all wrong with separate groups but it should have been kept out of TC in my opinion.
Not that it's any of my business here anyway, just commenting on how it seems to outsiders over on TC.
Besides, wouldn't it be called CSFNW rather than TCNW?

I never understood the NW thing. I have had no problem finding local Chevelle folks without an Ohio section.
Ditto that. Almost seems like the regions would be using Dale (in this case) to build them a website, so they can hang out together without any of the associated upkeep/cost to maintain it. Like a regional car club that wants someone else to keep up their website for them so they can chat/banter among themselves.
I personally think it's a bad idea. Promotes un-necessary segmentation of the membership, imo.

If that's the goal, there are free forum websites out there you can do that with. I set one up for something like that before but never finished it.

I have to agree with this. I was shocked to see what it became, certainly a violation of its intended use at TC. I would go on to speculate that it was the source of Dean resigning his Moderator duties but admit I could be wrong.

This topic has taken on a strange life of its own. The idea of having a forum for news of regional EVENTS is not a bad one. But that forum at TC has so much stuff on topics that really belong in the regular forums. Why???? Is it like some kids building a tree house with the sign "No Girls Allowed"? Is it to have an exclusive clique? What is the point? You might also note that the traffic in the Mid-Atlantic forum on TC has no traffic to speak of. So, the idea of a regional forum is not a guaranteed success story. Why would there need to be a second NW forum, anyway? It looks all too much like a small group wanting the site operators to provide them with their own little digital patch of ground. For free.
As for Dean, I am sure that he is too strong to let a little hiccup upset him at all. He will do ok.

This would be the 3rd forum, they also have one on Chevelle Forum.net.
Not needed or wanted IMO.

There are no current plans to include any kind of regional forums be they NW, SW, NE, SE, or Midwest. As noted there are several regional areas on other forums and those should suffice for the time being.

Could they not start their OWN forum?

Most certainly, phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/) bulletin board software is free. All one needs is a host and someone to spend 12-16 hours a day maintaining it and keeping unwanted porn sites, drug commercials, find-a-friend-in-your-town sites, etc. off the member list and blocking IP addresses.
