Restoring Dash Gauges: Lens silkscreening should be green (light)

Dash gauge lens has been sent back to the shop to change color of silkscreening from white to light green.

If you need your gauges and or lens restored then I can recommend a good source.

Actually, the letters should be white. The green tint to the letters when the dash lights are on come from the green background in the housing and a strip of green painted around the edges of the lens where the light from the bulbs is piped into the lens.

Thanks Rich for your information. I have a 64/65 OEM 120 mph used lens with light green "silkscreened" numbers & letters. Maybe I am color blind...

The lenses I've seen have the numbers and words actually etched into the plastic, not just painted on. Are you sure it isn't a reproduction lens?

The OEM 120mph lens has silkscreened light green numbers/words so my 160 mph will have the same color (light green). Thanks again. Do you know another '65 L79 from Lakeland FL?
