Forums by year------to much in my opinion
Personally, generations would just about cover it all, except for the small differences between the years.

64/67
68/72
73/76

Just a thought.

(brain fart----just noticed the by the year are sub-forums-------still just a bit much in my opinion)

Not sure I completely agree with you on this. There are lots of things that are year specific on these cars besides the cosmetic items. I found that out when restoring my 64. Although I don't own one, I understand the 68's are the same way.

If the questions are placed by year, I can easily go to 1964 (for example) and see if I can offer any help or advice.

69s are so cool, they need their own forum

Sort of like the BB/SB discussions and seperate forums. All engines operate under the same principals just different displacements, seperating the two would seperate knowledge.

But.....if I know absolutely nothing specific about big blocks and everything specific to small blocks wouldn't it make it nice to have them separate? I would never have to read through the big block questions cause I'm no help to anyone. Come to think of it, I'm not much help to anyone anyway so I don't guess it really matters.

IMHO, too many forums makes it difficult for those with the answers to share their knowledge... it might be easier to search later, but you don't want the "experts" of a particular subject to have to read 5 different sections to share their knowledge.

It's a tough decision to make, what criteria to use for separate forums. Over time some forums may be grouped if there's not much traffic in either as Bryan suggests or leave them as they are as Danny suggests.

I tried to breakout as many variable categories as I thought might work and I'm sure over time some will get merged and maybe others created. All of your minds out there certainly don't think like my one mind does so input is important and, naturally, decisions weighed.

This forum is one of only a very few I monitor for posts since it deals with the forum as a whole. I appreciate everyone's input and perspectives.

I only know small blocks, and really don't "know" them, have really only read about them. I do pass over lots of lots of discussions about BBCs just because it seems like a different world. The principles behind them are the same, but dimensions, other specs, casting numbers, designs, etc, all those things are different. I don't mind passing over a thread though, so I think I agree that since it isn't a terrible idea to keep them in the same place.

I like the separate year forums. It sure makes it easier to look for a thread on specific issue that may only be a one year only thing.
I will be spending most of my time in the '1972' threads.

I like the "by separate year" forums but if things must be condensed I would like to see 64/65 - 66/67 - 68/69 - 70 - 71/72 and 73+. This way the subject of the thread/answer would be "somewhat" typical for the year/s specified. Either way is OK by me! I'm easy.
