Hello from boise state country, I have just purchased a 69 l89 car. I have had many other chevelles in the past but i have not seen any other with plastic inner fenders. Is this common with 69s or is it part of the l89 package or something else? Thanks for your help.

It's fairly common to see the plastic fenderwells on a 69 Chevelle. I have a post sedan car that came with them.
You didn't happen to be the buyer of the 300 Deluxe L89 car that was on Ebay recently, were you?

Rick,

Is that common to any particular Assembly Plant or whatever was on hand that day?

Thanks....john

I've seen Leeds and Baltimore cars with them that were unrestored, but couldn't say about the other plants or time frames.

Lets see the 69 L89. Sounds like an awesome car. My brother has a 70 built at Van Nays, sold in St. Louis and it has plastic inner finders. This has been discussed before, I think the only logical reason is the Northern cars were more apt to getting the plastic and the more Souther got the metal. I have never seen a 72 with plastic inners but I have owned a Baltimore built 71 with plastic.

Let us see that 69 L89. Rare ride indeed.
