VIN:
138378K210xxx
SS396 Sport Coupe, Kansas City, sequence number - mid to late May it appears

Engine Pad:
10228ED
T0228ED - T=Tonawanda engine plant, 0228=February 28, ED=396/325/manual transmission

18K211?*??? This was next to pad # but got faded as I read:
Partial VIN of original car, should be the same sequence number as the VIN above. That is, 18K=Chevrolet, 1968, Kansas City, sequence number. Here one is 210xxx and one is 211xxx - need to double check.

Cowl Tag:

05C 8854 KAN14659
05C - Fisher Body date of May, 3rd week
8854 - Fisher Body job number
KAN - Kansas City final assembly plant
14659 - Fisher Body unit number

68 13857 0-2
Fisher Body style 68 (model year)
13857 - should be 13837
0-2 - probably G-2 for Ash Gold and black vinyl top

766-6-???
766 is trim code for black bucket seats.
The other 6-???, have no idea. Need better/clearer information.
I know it's not much but it's a start.

Thanks Dave

Very interested in what the interior looks like in this car. I would assume a May built KAN 138car would have Buick interior.

Not necessarily. So far, only black interiors seem to have been affected by the BOP possible interiors, no other colors have been found - at least by me.

766 is black correct?

Yes. 765 is a bench seat and 766 is bucket seats. I'm not certain that ALL 68s from KC, Baltimore, or Fremont with black interiors in this time frame (late March through early June) would have BOP interiors. So far almost all of those found have been in both the Malibu and SS396 sport coupes, convertibles, and pickups. One exception is a 300 Deluxe 2-dr sedan from KC with 760 (again, black) interior.

I'm wondering if in the initial post the 766-6 isn't really 766-B? Kansas City tags also used -A- and -B- after trim codes to denote bench/bucket.
