66 body styles????

I am new to this forum...........I saw when I lived in MI a 66 sitting off the road......When I went to look @ it it looked slightly shorter-not as long.........was I dreaming..........it was not an SS but an old grocery getter.............it was a seafoam green color what that has to do with tea in China............it didn't look as broad(from ground to roof) but it did look a tad maybe...........wider?????.......Not sure on that............It looked shorter and wasn't even sporty..............there is no one on this forum that has an addiction to 66 chevelles like me..........I'm 36 and saw my 1st one @8 or 9 and have wanted one since........And everyone I know knows my obsession with them.........Could anyone help please???????????.............I don't have a 66 because of lack of work and garage and sold off lots of tools 4yrs ago in order to pay rent and buy food.............those seemed more important...............to me it was nicer than any I had seen in the past and it was a rusted mess...............So I need help if anyone knows what I mean because I will search for this type of chevelle if it is even out there...............Thanks, Pastor Brian

Pastor Brian,

There are quite a few body styles for the 66 Chevelle. The Chevelle 300, 300 deluxe, Malibu, and SS396. The 300 and 300 deluxe came in 2 and 4 door sedan with a much different back window than the Malibu and SS396 coupes...this gives the car a much different look and may be what you were looking at. I've attached a picture of my 66 300, 2-door sedan. Hope this helps.

Click the Decode your Chevelle tab at the top of the page. That'll take you to my ChevelleStuff.net website with tons of information on 64-72 Chevelles. In the 1966 area are several pages of different 66 Chevelles such as http://chevellestuff.net/1966/misc/modelid.htm and http://chevellestuff.net/1966/chevelle/gallery/index.htm. You may find something there that fits your bill.
